I am asking this question for my friends mother. She would like to begin home schooling her children but is on a tight budget. Her questions are: Is it legal to hold fund raisers and or collect money to supplement the costs of home schooling her children? Does she legally have to pay taxes on collected money? The state laws in question are those of Indiana.

We pay child support, and the mother let the child drop out of school to be home schooled. We were to pay till she graduated school. So our question is, being that it was their choice she dropped out, are we required to pay support after she is 18, and possibly continues to drag out her home schooling till she graduates? She was 17 in 9th grade, and was only suppose to graduate senior year at 20? We just weren’t sure how it works? Any helpful answers would be appreciated. Thanks!

Read the news article below. A three panel California court of appeals has overturned a previous decision by a higher court making it illegal for parents to homeschool their cildren. Do you agree that we are loosing more and more of our freedoms each year? Pretty soon we are going to have to rename our country to the United States Socialists Republic of America. (shivers) That is scary.
